Akram Louis
Akram Louis, a dedicated and compassionate Queens divorce lawyer, has been practicing matrimonial and family law in all New York City boroughs, as well as Long Island and Westchester since 2010. As a child of divorced parents, he understands not only the legal, but the emotional demands families go through when ending a marriage.
As Of Counsel at the Law Offices of Donald Mastrodomenico. P.C., Attorney Louis handles both uncontested and contested divorce matters. While he is an aggressive litigator, he also recognizes sometimes it is quicker and better economically for the client to resolve the divorce matter through a negotiated settlement. Attorney Louis also handles family court matters such as child support, custody and orders of protection, as he has represented custodial and non-custodial parents on custody and visitation modification petitions, as well as spousal support hearings.
After earning his J.D. in 2009 from Vermont Law School, Attorney Louis was a volunteer attorney in Queens County Family Court where he provided pro-bono legal advice regarding child support, spousal support, paternity, custody, visitation and guardianship matters. Even as a law school student, he represented the interests of two children in family court for modification of custody through the Vermont Law School Legal Clinic. He has been admitted to practice in the states of New York and New Jersey since 2010, as well as the U.S. District Court and Southern District of New York since 2012. Attorney Louis is an active member of the New York State Bar Association Family Law Section, Queens County Bar Association Family Law Section, the Coptic Lawyers Association and the Queens Women's Bar Association.
